Dr Charlotte Wotherspoon, BMedSci, BDent
Principal Dentist & Co-owner
Dr Charlotte Wotherspoon is a co-owner and principal dentist of Singleton Smiles, which was established in 2012. With a passion for helping people overcome their dental fears and achieve their optimal oral health, Dr Wotherspoon has created a practice designed to make patients feel welcomed, supported and genuinely cared for.
Dr Wotherspoon graduated from the University of Sydney with both a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. She began her career in dentistry in 2009, driven by a desire to work in healthcare and help people in a field often regarded as unpleasant or scary. Her mission has always been to transform that perception by helping patients regain their oral health through education, motivation and compassionate care.
Leading with Care
As a principal dentist, Dr Wotherspoon oversees all aspects of the practice, from mentoring dentists and staff to building team morale. She loves welcoming new patients and their families, ensuring each person has a positive experience from their very first visit. Dr Wotherspoon takes particular pride in helping patients who may have been phobic in the past discover that dental care can be comfortable and even enjoyable.
What Dr Wotherspoon values most is her incredible team at Singleton Smiles. She's built a cohesive, fun-loving group of hardworking women who genuinely enjoy working together and are committed to providing the best possible care. This positive team culture directly benefits patients, aiming to create a warm and supportive environment throughout the practice.

Outside the practice, Dr Wotherspoon enjoys an active and adventurous lifestyle. She's passionate about cooking and baking sourdough, and she's an accomplished marathon runner. Dr Wotherspoon also loves skiing and travelling, always seeking new experiences and challenges.
Fun fact: When she was 16, Dr Wotherspoon lived abroad in the USA for a year on a student exchange—an experience that helped shape her open, welcoming approach to meeting people from all walks of life.
Dr Kate Lowe, BDSc
Principal Dentist & Co-owner
Dr Kate Lowe is a principal dentist and proud co-owner of Singleton Smiles, a practice she has called home since the very beginning of her dental career.
Kate's path to dentistry was a happy accident born of passion and mentorship. Originally set on becoming a physiotherapist, she was working part-time as a dental assistant between university degrees when an influential mentor saw something special in her and encouraged her to follow in his footsteps. That nudge changed everything. Kate went on to complete her Bachelor of Dental Science at Charles Sturt University, building on an earlier Bachelor of Applied Science in Exercise & Sports Science from the University of Sydney, and graduated at the end of 2014.
She joined Singleton Smiles as a new graduate dentist in 2015 and never looked back. Recognising her dedication and vision for the practice, Kate was invited to buy in as a partner in 2019, a role she has embraced wholeheartedly ever since.
Passionate About People
For Kate, the most rewarding part of her work is the people, both the patients she serves and the incredible team she works alongside. With patients, she finds deep fulfilment in helping those who are nervous or fearful discover that a dental visit doesn't have to be daunting, in restoring confidence through smile transformations and in building lasting relationships with families across the Singleton community.
Her team is equally close to her heart. Kate is proud to lead a group of passionate young women who bring energy, care, and genuine warmth to every patient interaction. "We all consider each other family," she says, and it shows.
Life Beyond Dentistry
When she's not in the chair, Kate can often be found at the beach with her husband and young children, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen or planning the next stamp in her passport. A seasoned traveller, she has visited six of the seven continents and has just one left to tick off. She also has a serious appreciation for a great cup of coffee.
Those who know Kate well might be surprised to learn she spent years teaching children to swim–including a stint at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). She was also an avid waterskier before family life (happily) took over her weekends.
Dr Ally Moir, BClinSci (MQ) DMD (USyd)
Dentist
Dr Ally Moir grew up knowing firsthand how daunting a trip to the dentist could be. That personal experience with dental anxiety is exactly what inspired her to pursue a career in dentistry, so she could help others feel calm, comfortable, and confident in the chair. She completed her Bachelor of Clinical Science at Macquarie University before going on to earn her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Sydney, joining the Singleton Smiles team in 2023.
Creating Comfortable Experiences
After moving from Sydney to Singleton, Dr Ally quickly fell in love with the region and its community. She finds that Singleton Smiles feels far more like a family than a workplace, and she genuinely loves getting to know the people she cares for. Whether she is helping a nervous patient feel at ease or restoring a smile that has been lost, that human connection is what makes her work so rewarding.

Outside the practice, Dr Ally keeps life full and adventurous. She is an avid runner who is training for her third marathon, a passionate reader (always open to book recommendations), and a talented home baker who has even made wedding cakes. She also makes a point of swimming or cold-water plunging in the ocean at least once a week. At home, she is kept company by Willow, her five-year-old whippet. When she is not exploring the Hunter region, Dr Ally is planning her next international adventure—with Vietnam, Montenegro, and Mount Kilimanjaro all high on her bucket list.
Dr Beth Lyons, BDS
Dentist
Dr Beth Lyons brings a genuine passion for patient care to Singleton Smiles. A graduate of Charles Sturt University in Orange, Beth is drawn to the hardworking, down-to-earth nature of regional communities, and it shows in the way she connects with each person who walks through the door.
Passionate About Patient Care
What Beth loves most about dentistry is the unique combination of immediate impact and long-term relationships it offers. When a patient arrives in pain, she can often diagnose the problem, provide treatment, and have them feeling better in under an hour. At the same time, regular checkups allow her to get to know patients over many years. She also has a deep appreciation for the artistry of the work—from precisely placed restorations to the fine motor skills required every day. As she puts it, every filling is like creating a tiny sculpture.
Beth is proud to be part of the Singleton Smiles team, where everyone genuinely wants the best outcome for patients and works together to achieve it. She values the supportive environment and notes that the team also happens to have some very talented bakers among its ranks.

Outside the practice, Beth enjoys cinema, pilates, running, and live concerts. She is a dedicated blood and plasma donor with more than 50 donations to her name, and she is also scuba certified, so she is just as comfortable exploring the deep as she is helping patients feel at ease in the chair.
Jon Pride
Dental Prosthetist
Jon Pride is a dental prosthetist at Singleton Smiles, where he helps patients restore their smiles and achieve greater comfort and function. With a passion for creating removable prosthetics and helping patients feel confident about their smiles, Jon provides personalised denture care tailored to each patient's needs.
Jon began working in dentistry in 2012, starting his career as a dental technician. He initially chose the dental field because he enjoyed working with a variety of materials within the dental laboratory. He later completed his dental prosthetist training at Randwick TAFE and Sydney Dental Hospital, allowing him to work directly with patients and assist in designing their new smile aesthetics.
Creating Confident Smiles
Jon provides a range of denture and removable prosthetic services, including full, partial, and implant-retained dentures. He also services and maintains dentures, helping patients keep their prosthetics comfortable and functioning well.
What Jon enjoys most about working with patients is seeing how restoring their smile can change how they feel. He believes a good smile can bring joy while also allowing patients to eat, speak, and function as they would like. Jon also enjoys being part of the Singleton Smiles team, where laughter, enjoyment, teamwork and a sense of accomplishment create plenty of smiles of their own.

Outside of dentistry, Jon enjoys playing golf and soccer, spending time with friends and family, and travelling. He also has a particular love for 90s music and can often be found listening to it continuously.
Fun fact: Jon can spin a pen continuously around one finger without dropping it!
Matilda
Practice Manager
Matilda is the Practice Manager at Singleton Smiles, overseeing the practice's day-to-day operations and helping keep everything running smoothly. Having been part of the team since the practice opened in 2012, Matilda has played an important role in creating a happy, supportive team environment where everyone enjoys coming to work.
Matilda began her career in dentistry in 2012, completing her Certificate III and IV in Dental Assisting through TAFE before completing her Diploma of Practice Management through UNE partnerships. While she originally thought she would stay in dental assisting, moving into reception and practice management proved to be a great fit for her.
Building Long-Term Relationships
One of Matilda's favourite parts of her role is building long-term relationships with patients. Having been at Singleton Smiles since the beginning, she has had the privilege of seeing patients and their families go through so many different stages of life.
As often the first point of contact when patients call or arrive at the practice, Matilda loves helping people feel comfortable from the very beginning. She also takes pride in supporting the team and creating a positive environment where everyone feels happy and enjoys coming to work.

Outside the practice, Matilda enjoys reading and going for walks with her twin toddlers. She's also a big fan of puzzles and enjoys putting them together in her spare time.

Courtney
Oral Health Therapist
Courtney joined Singleton Smiles in 2019, bringing her passion for helping people achieve confident, healthy smiles to the local community. With a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy (OHT) from the University of Newcastle and years of experience in dentistry since 2018, Courtney provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages.
Supporting Long-Term Oral Health
As an OHT, Courtney offers both preventive and restorative dental services, including professional cleans, fillings and basic treatments. She's dedicated to educating patients on proper oral hygiene and promoting good dental habits that support long-term oral health. Courtney works closely with dentists and the wider dental team to deliver coordinated, high-quality care whilst ensuring efficient patient flow throughout the practice.
What Courtney loves most about her role is hearing patients' stories. She genuinely enjoys getting to know people from all different backgrounds and helping make their dental visits feel comfortable and positive. Her warm, personable approach puts patients at ease and helps them feel confident about their oral health journey.
Active in the Community
Outside the practice, Courtney stays active and connected to her community in numerous ways. She enjoys playing golf, spending quality time with her dogs and ducks, and coaching a local women's soccer team. Courtney also volunteers extensively with her local soccer club, where she manages social media posts, designs uniforms and graphics, and serves as the club secretary. It's a creative outlet that keeps her engaged with the community she loves.
Fun fact: Courtney comes from a blended family and is one of 13 kids!
Kirsty
Dental Therapist (Adult Scope)
With over 30 years in dentistry, Kirsty brings a wealth of experience, warmth, and genuine passion to every patient she sees. She completed her training at the College of Dental Therapy, Westmead, the University of Newcastle, and the University of Melbourne, and has been making patients feel at ease ever since.
Passionate About Positive Dental Experiences
Kirsty joined Singleton Smiles recently, and it's safe to say she's found her people. What she loves most about her team is the positivity, the mentorship, and the shared commitment to always learning. "The team are always so helpful and kind," she says, and that spirit of kindness is something she carries straight into the treatment room.
Kirsty's love of dentistry started young. She'll happily admit to having had a lifelong fascination with teeth that she can't quite explain! While she now works in adult scope, her heart has always had a special place for kids, and she's passionate about creating safe, positive dental experiences that let every child know they are amazing, special, and cared for.

Outside the practice, Kirsty is a woman of many talents. You might find her behind the wheel of her Ford Ranger, sewing, belting out a karaoke classic, or out in the paddock with her animals. And her most unique skill? Equine dentistry. Because why stop at one species?
Michelle
Dental Nurse
Michelle has been a valued member of the dental nursing profession since 2014, bringing over a decade of experience, warmth, and genuine care to every patient she works with. She completed her Certificate III in Alice Springs before earning her Certificate IV in Singleton, NSW, and has been helping patients feel at ease ever since.

At the heart of Michelle's approach is a commitment to building trust and reducing anxiety through knowledge, empathy, and a calm, reassuring presence. She understands that a visit to the dentist can feel daunting, and she takes pride in making every patient feel safe, informed, and genuinely cared for. No two patients are the same, and Michelle embraces the new challenges each day brings—always with a positive attitude and a steady hand.

Senior Dental Assistant
Sam is a senior dental assistant and a familiar, friendly face who has been part of the practice since the very beginning. Starting in dentistry straight out of high school, Sam has built a career dedicated to making every patient feel genuinely cared for—not just treated.
Making Patients Feel at Ease
Sam works closely alongside the dentist to keep procedures running smoothly, prepares and sterilises instruments, and maintains a clean, organised treatment room. Sam's real strength, though, is the ability to anticipate what the team needs and what patients are feeling. Whether it's a reassuring smile, a kind word, or simply a calm presence in the room, Sam understands that the little things make a big difference, especially for patients who feel nervous about visiting the dentist. Sam trained through TAFE and on-the-job experience, bringing both formal knowledge and years of hands-on practice to the role.
What Sam loves most about the job is the genuine connections built with patients over time. Watching people leave their appointments feeling happy and confident makes every day worthwhile.

Outside the practice, Sam is happiest outdoors: tending to plants, going camping, exploring on hikes, and keeping up with the kids in the backyard. A self-confessed DIY enthusiast, Sam can turn almost any idea into a creative project, and will happily trade a busy schedule for fresh air, family, and a good cup of tea.
Jess
Practice Coordinator
Jess has been a proud member of the Singleton Smiles family since March 2020, bringing warmth, organisation, and a whole lot of heart to her role as practice coordinator. With a Certificate III and IV in Dental Assisting, a Dental Practice Management qualification, and a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services currently underway, she brings a well-rounded foundation of knowledge to everything she does behind the scenes.
Keeping the Practice Running Smoothly
As practice coordinator, Jess is the one making sure everything runs smoothly so that patients feel at ease and the team can do their very best work. She thrives on connecting with patients and supporting a team that genuinely cares—both about each other and the quality of care they provide. For Jess, the most rewarding part of the job is witnessing firsthand the difference that great dental care can make to a patient's confidence.

When she's not keeping the practice humming, you'll find Jess on the Pilates mat, in the kitchen experimenting with new baking recipes to share with family and friends, or out and about with her beloved puppy.

Bec
Receptionist
With 19 years of experience in the dental industry and around four years as a beloved member of the Singleton Smiles team, Bec is quite often the friendly first face patients see when they walk through the door. Trained both on the job and through TAFE, she has built a wealth of knowledge and a natural ease with people that makes her an invaluable part of the practice.
Welcoming Patients with Care
As our receptionist, Bec is the one who sets the tone for every patient's visit. From warm welcomes and check-ins to booking appointments and keeping medical histories up to date, she works hard to make sure everything runs seamlessly from the moment a patient arrives to the moment they leave smiling. What she loves most about her role is the people, both the patients she gets to know over time and the team she works alongside every day. She describes her colleagues as caring, thorough, and always willing to pitch in, and the feeling is clearly mutual.

Outside of the practice, Bec is all about making the most of life. She and her family love hitting the road in their caravan, and you'll also find her at the beach, out shopping, catching up with friends over coffee, or on the reformer Pilates machine.
Fun fact: Before her dental career, Bec worked as a camp instructor at an outdoor education camp, teaching kids how to canoe, abseil, and everything in between.
Madison
Dental Assistant
Madison joined the Singleton Smiles team in January 2023, bringing enthusiasm, dedication and a genuine passion for dentistry to every patient interaction.
Madison's interest in dentistry led her to complete a week of work experience at Singleton Smiles in 2022. She learned so much and enjoyed the experience so thoroughly that she applied to join the team the following year. Since then, she's been developing her skills through TAFE Digital while receiving ongoing support and mentorship from her workplace and colleagues.
What Madison loves most about her role is working alongside her incredible team. They communicate clearly, work efficiently to get the job done and always make time to support one another. She finds it empowering to work with a group of strong women who are natural-born leaders, creating a positive and professional atmosphere that benefits both the team and their patients.

When she's not at work, Madison loves being by the water and heading to the beach whenever possible. Amber joined the Singleton Smiles team in 2025, bringing fresh enthusiasm and a genuine love of helping people to her role as a dental assistant. What drew her to the field was simple—she came across the opportunity, found dentistry fascinating, and jumped at the chance to learn more while making a real difference for patients. She trained right here at Singleton Smiles, growing her skills on the job from day one.

In her role, Amber works closely alongside the dentist to ensure every patient has the most comfortable and positive experience possible. Her favourite part of the job is helping nervous patients feel at ease in the chair and having the chance to meet wonderful people every single day. For Amber, knowing that patients leave loving their smiles makes it all worthwhile.

Outside of work, Amber leads an active and balanced life. You'll find her at the gym, out on an evening walk, catching the sunset, or curled up with a good book. She also loves baking treats for her family. As for what's on the horizon, Amber has set herself an exciting personal goal for the year: learning a new language. With the drive and curiosity she brings to everything she does, there's no doubt she'll give it her all!
Tahlia
Dental Assistant
Tahlia joined The Happy Tooth Singleton at the start of 2023 and has quickly become a valued member of our team. Trained at TAFE NSW, she works chairside to assist our dentists, sterilise instruments, prepare lab work, take x-rays, and help out at reception, so there's a good chance she'll be one of the first friendly faces you see when you walk through our door.
Helping Patients Feel at Ease
Tahlia's favourite part of the job is helping patients feel at ease. Whether it's a nervous first-timer or someone in for a smile transformation, she genuinely loves seeing patients leave feeling happy and confident. Her own experience with braces sparked an early interest in dentistry, and that passion for helping people feel good about their smiles has only grown since.

Outside the practice, Tahlia loves heading to the beach and hunting down the best coffee at new cafes around town. She's also a competitive dancer, and if you ask her team, they'll tell you she's never short of something to say.

Brodie
Dental Assistant
Brodie joined the Singleton Smiles team at the end of 2025, bringing with her a genuine passion for patient care and a love of fast-paced, team-focused environments. She completed her training at TAFE NSW and was drawn to dentistry because of its unique blend of healthcare and hands-on teamwork — a combination that has always brought her a great deal of career satisfaction.
Creating Positive Experiences for Young Patients
One of Brodie's favourite parts of the job is working with younger patients. She takes real pride in helping children see that a trip to the dentist doesn't have to be scary — and watching their confidence grow visit by visit is something she finds truly rewarding. She speaks just as warmly about her colleagues, describing the Singleton Smiles team as some of the most helpful and kind people she has had the pleasure of working with.

Before moving into dentistry, Brodie worked in aged care, giving her a strong foundation in compassionate, person-centred care. Outside the practice, she loves to cook and is a dedicated meal prepper — putting together a full week of meals every single week without fail. When she's not in the kitchen, you'll find her enjoying time with friends and family.
Lily
Dental Assistant
Lily is a dental assistant at Singleton Smiles who brings enthusiasm, warmth, and a genuine passion for patient care to everything she does. Since joining the dental field in 2022, Lily has built a well-rounded skill set spanning clinical and administrative support, always with the goal of helping patients feel comfortable and confident.
Supporting Patients with Care
Lily works across all areas of the practice, from chairside assisting and sterilisation to crafting bleaching trays, retainers, and sports mouthguards in the in-house lab. She also supports the reception team with appointments, phone enquiries, and health fund payments. Lily completed her training both in clinic and through further study at TAFE.
What Lily loves most about her role is building genuine connections with patients and being part of a team that looks out for one another. She was drawn to dentistry for its hands-on nature and the opportunity to make a real difference in patients' experiences, helping them leave the chair feeling cared for and at ease.

Outside of work, Lily has a serious sense of adventure. She loves travelling, trying new restaurants and cuisines, going to Pilates, cooking, and spending time outdoors. She also has a remarkable story to tell—Lily has visited Mount Everest, making her one of the more well-travelled members of the team.
Amelia (Milly)
Dental Assistant
Amelia is a Dental Assistant at Singleton Smiles, where she helps provide comfort and support to patients throughout their dental procedures. She works alongside the dental team to ensure each procedure runs as smoothly as possible, assisting with everything from setting up and cleaning to supporting the dentist during treatment.
Amelia began her career in dentistry in 2026, with training through TAFE supported by both online and in-person learning. She has also gained practical experience at Singleton Smiles, where real-life scenarios and procedures have helped her develop her skills and confidence in the role.
Supporting Patients with Care
Amelia has always had a passion for healthcare and loves being part of a community that genuinely cares for and supports people through their individual needs. She was particularly drawn to dentistry because it not only focuses on people's health and well-being but also helps patients feel more confident through their smiles.
One of the most rewarding parts of Amelia's role is seeing patients come into the practice feeling scared or nervous and leave feeling like their most confident selves. She also loves being part of the Singleton Smiles team, describing them as one of the most supportive groups of people she's had the pleasure of working with. Their friendship and support are a big part of what makes her enjoy her role.

Dental Assistant
Hope joined the Singleton Smiles team in 2026 and brings a genuine passion for oral health to everything she does. Trained at TAFE NSW, Hope works as a dental assistant, supporting our patients and team through chairside assistance, sterilisation, and attentive patient care.
What Hope loves most about coming to work each day is the kindness and support that flows through our practice. She believes that a warm, caring environment makes all the difference, and she works hard to ensure every patient feels it from the moment they arrive.
