Caring for your dental crown is straightforward and similar to caring for your natural teeth. Individual results vary; however, with proper maintenance, your crown may last 15 years or longer, protecting your tooth and maintaining your beautiful smile.

Daily Care Essentials

Brush twice daily — Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste to clean around your crown, paying special attention to the gum line where the crown meets your natural tooth.
Floss daily — Gently floss around your crown to remove plaque and food particles. Slide the floss out sideways rather than lifting to avoid dislodging the crown.
Avoid hard foods — While crowns are durable, biting down on ice, hard lollies or nuts can damage them. Use caution with sticky foods like toffee that might pull at your crown.
Wear a mouthguard — If you grind your teeth at night or play contact sports, a custom mouthguard protects your crown from excessive pressure and impact.
Attend regular check-ups — Visit us every six months so we can examine your crown, check the surrounding gum tissue and address any concerns early.

Same-Day Bridges and Dental Crowns in Singleton

At Singleton Smiles, our dentists use innovative CEREC technology to design and mill a custom dental crown or bridge at our dental clinic in approximately 90 minutes at our dental clinic.

With 3-D imaging, we capture a picture of your tooth that our dentists use to design your new restoration. Their exact specifications are sent to our clinic's milling machine, which uses high-quality porcelain to mill your restoration while you wait.

When it’s ready, our dentists can fit it to your smile and make any necessary adjustments to optimise bite function.
